I AM MOVING TO SWITZERLAND
When transferring your residence to Switzerland, you must first determine whether you wish to come to Switzerland with or without gainful employment.
If you are a citizen of the EU and EFTA, you will benefit from the rights contained in the Agreement on the Free Movement of Persons between Switzerland and the European Union and its Member States (ALCP).
The Federal Act on Foreigner Nationals and Integration applies to third-country nationals.
In practice, you should choose in which canton you wish to live, as all the procedures will be initiated with the competent cantonal authority of your place of residence. For non-European citizens, the application for a residence permit must be submitted to the Swiss Embassy in your place of origin. We coordinate all procedures with the various authorities involved.
We can also advise you on the acquisition of your property, which may be restricted by the law on the acquisition of property by foreigners (Lex Koller).
As soon as you arrive in Switzerland, you will be considered a Swiss tax resident. A possible taxation based on expenses ("forfait") can be considered, especially if you are not gainfully employed.
Our team of specialists in immigration and tax law are at your disposal to assist you throughout your relocation project.
