Anne Laure Bandle who specialises in art law just published the book « Risques et périls dans l’attribution des œuvres d’art: de la pratiques des experts aux aspects juridiques » (Risks and dangers in the attribution of works of art: from expert practice to legal aspects) with Schulthess. She also contributed to the book with a chapter on the liability of auction houses for misattributing works of art.

One of the aims of this book is to analyse the attribution of both Old Masters and contemporary works of art, and to examine the major problems associated with this practice, such as the legal status of experts, attribution errors and the liability of dealers and auction houses, the legitimacy of experts who exercise a dominant position in the art market, and conflicts of interest. Finally, this book proposes some solutions aimed at improving the authentication process and reinforcing the security and quality of expertise in the art market.
