In the Tribune de Genève and Echo Magazine, Josef Alkatout examines the legal question of grandparents’ rights to remain in contact with their grandchildren.
While in Switzerland grandparents do not have any explicit legal rights to see their grandchildren – unlike in countries such as Germany, France, or Canada – a recent decision (5A_359/2024 dated 14 October 2024) by the Swiss Supreme Court has ruled in favour of the grandparents.
