Italian bank Fideuram – Intesa Sanpaolo Private Banking (Fideuram) has completed the sale of a 51% participation in Asteria Investment Managers (Asteria), a Geneva-based impact investing asset manager, to Man Group Holdings Limited (Man Group), a UK-based worldwide investment management company.
Asteria, now a joint venture between Fideuram and Man Group, will focus on technology-enabled alternative and long-only investment strategies, combining Fideuram’s private banking expertise, financial advisor network and client base with Man Group’s expertise in bespoke portfolio solutions and the strong investment management capabilities of both Man Group and Asteria.
BOREL & BARBEY acted as Swiss legal counsel to Fideuram. The team was led by Luca Bozzo, Marc Freymond, Audrey Tasso (Corporate) and Vincent Berger (Tax), alongside the Italian law firm Pedersoli.
Man Group was represented by the London-based law firm Herbert Smith Freehills, and by Kellerhals Carrard in Switzerland.
