Borel & Barbey represented Yoko Ono in her action for the recovery of a watch which belonged to her late husband, John Lennon, and which had been stolen from her.

After protracted legal proceedings, the Swiss Supreme Court has finally ruled in favour of Mrs. Ono.

“Mrs. Ono is understandably relieved at the outcome of this case, which brings an end to a nearly 10-year saga that began in 2014 when Jonh Lennon’s timepiece turned up in Geneva. This watch holds particular significance for her, and it is about time she got it back. On the legal front, the Swiss Supreme Court has delivered a well-founded decision that provides clear and definitive answers to complex issues under American, Turkish, German, and Swiss law. This decision confirms the arguments we have upheld for the past decade, and we are delighted with the result”, states Vincent Guignet, Partner at the Firm.

Borel & Barbey’s team was composed of Vincent Guignet, Michèle Wassmer, Anne Laure Bandle and Lubomir Canter.
